NightSkySecrets has been established as an Astronomy Company since 2007, with myself, Ian Maclean as the Principal Astronomer, but the history goes a little deeper than that.

Astronomy is a passion of mine, developed from an early age with my first telescope and coming to fruition with the establishment of Gove Amateur Astronomers in 2002 in Nhulunbuy NT.  Astronomy for beginners, space science, aboriginal astronomy, galaxy hunting, Discovering Nebulas, Side Walk Astronomy, the planets, moon, star clusters and binary stars of deep space are just some of the facets of astronomy that drive my passion for writing and presenting.

Regular articles have been published at EzineArticles where I report on the latest happenings in the night sky and share my experiences under the clear night skies of Arnhem Land NT and beyond.

My radio science program “The Science Show” on 106.9 GoveFM, has raised a whole bunch of Astronomy, Space Science, General Science & Environmental topics.
You can access the best of these shows as podcasts at www.AskTheScienceGuru.com , down loadable to your MP3 player via the RSS feed, or you can simply listen to them on the AskTheScienceGuru Page.

Astronomy presentations for the Public, School and Private groups, are a regular event in Arnhem land NT and Cairns Far North Queensland, Australia, where I weave my special interest of Aboriginal Astronomy, into my night sky tours.

I am honored to have received a Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary for my work throughout the Arnhem Land community in astronomy and science education.

As a Writer & Presenter, with a special interest in Astronomy , Space science, Environmental Issues and Travel Writing,  I am proud to be associated with the NT writers centre as the convener of Arnhem Writers, a group of local Writers, poets, songwriters, playwrights and musicians who meet monthly to showcase and further develop their craft.

I  had a very successful season as Production Manager for the reborn 2009 Gove Peninsula Festival. The GPF 2009 was a huge success. This follows on from 5 years of organizing events for Gove Amateur Astronomers  in North East Arnhemland.

After a 2 year absence the Gove Peninsula Festival rose again in 2011, this time with me finding myself as the President & Festival Director. I had a great team of motivated and talented people who made the 2011 festival as successful as the 2009 festival & then some. In 2012 the Gove Peninsula Festival celebrated 40 years of the town with the “Nhulunbuy – 40yrs Past – 40yrs Ahead” festival and with myself again as Festival Director with a celebration to top them all.

Night Sky Secrets has now expanded in 2013 to bring you a bigger and better range of , articles, discussions, events & Astronomy Products directly to the people of Arnhemland NT and Far North Queensland in person & to the wider australian community via our online store.

As well as being able to expand the availability of Night Sky Secrets products to Cairns & Region Markets & Festivals, I am delighted to now bring you a range of affordable, quality and easy to use telescopes, to get you started in Astronomy the fun and easy way.

It is my pleasure to be sharing my Passion for Astronomy, Science and writing with you, and look forward to your being part of the NightSkySecrets community. Sign up as a subscriber on our home page to be kept up to date with all the latest, you can also find us on Facebook.
